The Institute for Tribal Development Studies (ITDS) is an autonomous, apolitical, non-profit, research institute registered under AP Societies Registration Act 2001, working on the issues relating to Adivasi communities and other weaker sections. It was recognized as an autonomous academic research institute by the Department of Higher Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh (G.O.Rt.No.292, dt.23.11.2020), and it entered into an MoU with AP Tribal Welfare Department (TWD), to serve the departmental research needs such as: planning, monitoring, evaluating, and capacity building (dt.19.01.2022).
